What is Overlanding?

Overlanding is generally described as self reliant adventure travel, normally to remote destinations. This usually relies on a vehicle, normally with off roading capability, but not always. The emphasis is on the journey more than the destination, and the adventures had along the way.

Some journeys take people way off the beaten track and this is the goal, taking them to places people wouldn't normally travel and take adventures that go off the beaten track to gain new experiences and embed themselves in the local culture, experiencing the real country visited.
